How QR Boost works

Your QR code doesn't go straight to your website: it goes to your QR Boost link, and that link decides where each person goes. That's why you can change everything without reprinting.

The idea: a lightning-fast middleman

A normal (static) QR code stores your web address inside the pattern. If you change websites tomorrow, the printed QR code is out of date.

With QR Boost, the pattern stores a short link like qrboost.com/go/Ab3xK9p/. When someone scans it:

  1. Their phone opens that link.
  2. Our server works out in milliseconds where that person should go.
  3. It redirects them straight there, with no interstitial pages or ads.

You control step 2 from your account, whenever you like.

Change the destination anytime

New menu, promotion or online shop? Go to My QR codes, change the destination and save. The change applies instantly to every QR code you've already printed. No need to download or print anything.

Smart destinations

One QR code can send people to different places depending on who scans it. You can combine several rules, checked in order:

  • By phone: iPhones to the App Store, Androids to Google Play, computers to your website. Perfect for promoting an app with a single QR code.
  • By country: one page for Spain, another for Mexico and another for the rest. More in QR codes by country.
  • By language of the scanner's browser.
  • By day and time, in your time zone: the lunch menu, the dinner menu and the weekend one.

If no rule matches, your main destination is used. There's always one.

Pause, expiry and fallback destination

You can pause a QR code or give it an end date (for example, when a promotion ends). Meanwhile, scanners go to a fallback destination or see a clear “not available” notice. Resume it whenever you want.

Your brand, your design

Choose colours (including a transparent background or gradients), module and corner shapes, a frame with your call to action and your logo in the centre, which you can crop right there. Before you download, we check that the code scans.

If you change the design, we generate new files (with a new download address) that you'll need to download again. QR codes you've already printed keep working exactly the same, because they point to the same link.

  • PNG at 512, 1024 and 2048 px for the web, presentations and documents.
  • SVG and PDF vector files for print: perfect at any size.

Stats without tracking anyone

For each QR code you'll see how many times it's been scanned, by day, country and device type. We count anonymously: no IPs or data about scanners, and bots and link previews don't count.

The qrboost.com/go/…/ link also works outside the QR code. Paste it on social media, in emails or texts: it has the same smart destinations and adds to the same stats.
